The rules of the arena
How to play Triviarena
Triviarena is a trivia game by DonkeyCat GmbH. You can play practice quizzes and join a shared Cup in your browser. The iOS and Android app adds live multiplayer, private rooms, Arena tournaments, Face-off on one phone and the Tour.
A quick quiz, no account needed
The browser practice quiz starts a round of up to 20 multiple-choice questions. Choose an answer before the 15-second timer expires. Each correct answer scores one point; the answer is shown after each question. You can switch question language during the round, then play again with another set.
Choose a subject from the 20-topic question library to read questions and answers or start a practice round on that topic. Topics include history, science, sports, music, movies and geography. A topic round can be shorter when fewer questions are available.
Challenge friends with a Cup
A Cup is an asynchronous challenge: everyone answers the creator’s same question set in the same order, at a time that suits them. Create a Cup after a practice game in the app and share its invitation link.
- Open your friend’s invitation on a desktop browser, or enter the Cup code.
- Choose a nickname and question language. Start when you are ready: you have 12 seconds per question.
- Finish the questions to join the same ranking as the app players. More correct answers wins; ties are broken by total answer time.
Browser Cups use server-checked answers and a server timer. A necessary browser cookie remembers your attempt. Revisiting the Cup continues that attempt or shows your ranking. Guest identity belongs to that browser; it is separate from an app account. Cups expire after 90 days. Cup creation remains in the app.
Play together, or play on your own
Live duels and private rooms: compete in the app at the same time as other players. Private room codes bring your own group together. Arena: join a scheduled multiplayer tournament. Face-off: two players face each other across one phone.
The Tour: a solo adventure across ancient Rome with 100 levels, ten stages, bosses and up to three stars per level. The app also includes practice, daily challenges, credits, personal statistics and category rankings.
Watch a game
Available live games appear on the homepage. Open one to spectate in your browser. Spectating lets you watch the game; it does not enter you as a competitor. Visit the leaderboard to see player rankings.
What is free?
Browser practice and joining a shared Cup are free and do not require an app account. The app is free to download with optional in-app purchases. The Tour and live app modes have their own in-game credit rules.
